Jack Merrick Thirlway
Jack Merrick-Thirlway is a session stylist, senior stylist and creative director at Neville Hair and Beauty. He started his hairdressing career in 2006, when he joined the team at Neville.
Within a couple of years at the salon, he began to expand his career and started to work backstage at top London fashion shows, assisting some of the top names in the industry such as Eugene Souleiman, Martin Cullen, Duffy, Neville Tucker, Adam Reed, Chris Appleton and Sally Brookes to name a few. He then went on to work at Paris Fashion Week, Paris Haute Couture and London Fashion Week, and latterly worked on top shows at Vietnam and Singapore Fashion week where he was part of the Neville team who were awarded the title of “Official Hairstylists of the Asian Couture Federation” by Mr Kenzo himself.
During his time with Neville Hair and Beauty, he attended the 60th L’Oreal Colour Trophy show, which gave him an insight into the skills required to be an integral part of the hairdressing industry. In 2014, Jack won a place on the prestigious L’Oreal ID Artist program which played a fundamental role in boosting his confidence and expanding his skillset.
Throughout his career, Jack has also worked on styling countless shoots for editorial features for major magazines such as Wonderland, Tatler and Vogue with talents like Edie Campbell, Anna Friel, Sophie Rundle, Sarah Harris and Millie Macintosh.
Jack has spearheaded pop-up initiatives and brand partnerships with the salon; such as Neville St Barths where he lived for the duration of 8 months whilst they set up the salon, and Neville at Nammos Beach, Mykonos.
In 2020, Jack was promoted Creative Director for the Neville Hair and Beauty Flagship salon in Belgravia, London. Managing and leading A-class collaborations and partnerships with leading fashion houses for their seasonal runway shows with the Neville Session Team. These include Nicolas Jebran at Paris Haute Couture, Jimmy Paul at the ON/OFF shows during London Fashion Week, Celia Kritharioti’s Couture show at the British Museum, Mithridate at the V&A and the Central St Martins BA show. Jack most recently headed the styling at the Celia Kritharioti couture show in January 2022, and for Julien Fournié and Celia Kritharioti at Couture in July 2022.
Jack’s stylesd the tresses of Belgravia’s elite, and boasts an impressive celebrity client list including the likes of; Kelly Osbourne, Meredith Mickelson, Maye Musk, Claire Holt, Spencer Sisters, Emma Weymouth, Elsa Hosk.
In addition to Jack’s role at the Neville Hair and Beauty Flagship, he was also given the title of Managing Director at the Neville Hair and Beauty salon at the Bulgari Spa, London, where he manages day-to-day operations of the business working closely with the CEO.
